We engaged Martinez Construction (MC) as the general contractor to convert our attached one-car garage into a new room according to architectural plans completed previously. We accepted MC’s proposal in March 2017 with the project being completed in December 2018. The work of all the subcontractors on the project was very professional and well done. During the course of the project, we made a number of changes and added features, such as a bead-board ceiling, which satisfied our tastes in décor and met our needs for functionality. In addition, some electrical work that had been done prior to our engaging MC was upgraded and corrected. Lionel was understanding of our desires and did his best to satisfy them. He also let us know when something could not be done and was very timely in telling us and obtaining our approval for changes in the cost of the project as it progressed. The subcontractors he hired to work on our project were (for the most part) very professional. If there was a problem, such as the gutters being the wrong color, Lionel made sure the problem was corrected. The electrician did an especially good job in picking up where the previous electrician had left off and, as mentioned previously, corrected some shortcomings of the previous work.
Lionel also was instrumental in completing our detached garage through hiring a carpenter team and also correcting some substandard work done by the previous contractor. He went out of his way to ensure we were satisfied with the work done and the final result.
